Sky Sox Baseball Club welcomed 5,426 fans through the gates Saturday night against Salt Lake & in the process set a new single-season attendance record. The 305,168 fans to enter Security Service Field so far in 2010 surpass the previous record figure of 303,048 fans set back in 2008.
Heath Townsend, athletic trainer for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, has been named the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS) Athletic Trainer of the Year for the Pacific Coast League, the league announced Thursday.
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox and the Colorado Rockies have extended their Player Development Contract through the end of the 2012 baseball season, team officials announced. The two-year agreement extends from October 1, 2010 until September 30, 2012.
